Lauren F. Winner book
I have started reading the book, "Girl Meets God," by Lauren F. Winner. I can't believe the praise this book received--the New York Times book review, Booklist, Publishers Weekly, since it is so overtly Evangelical. It sort of reminds me of the book, "Traveling Mercies" by Anne Lamott, minus the swear words.

I appreciate her Jewish-ness. She wrote about the prayers during the Jewish holidays. One translates,
"The Lord, the Lord of compassion, Who offers grace and is slow to anger, Who is full of lovingkindness and trustworthiness..."
